Non-APC councillors who won must be declared —Akeredolu insists

The newly elected council Chairmen in the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State have been sworn-in

The Permanent secretary, cabinet and service matters, Mr Gbenga Elewuju led the newly elected council chairmen in the oaths of office and allegiance at the event which took place at the Dome in Akure

All the local government chairmen are from the ruling party, the All progressives congress, APC.

There have been complaints in some wards after the election that opposition SDP and ADC won some councillorship seats but ODIEC is yet to make official declarations.

Some of the areas include; Ikun, Akungba Akoko Southwest and Obaile in Akure north among others.

However addressing the newly elected council bosses, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said non-APC Councillors who won must be declared by the state Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).

The governor noted that there was no room for arrogance, urging the new 18 local government chairmen to improve on the local economy of their areas.
