Akeredolu, Kekemeke, Oke, Adelami in final battle for APC Guber ticket

Ahead of October 10 governorship election in Ondo state, all is now set for the All Progressives Congress, APC to select its candidate for the polls on Monday July 20.

However, the party has however changed the venue of the primaries from 18 local government areas to the Dome International Event centre, Igbatoro road, Akure.

The state spokesman of the party, Alex Kalejaye had earlier on Sunday confirmed to SUNSHINETRUTH that the primaries will take place in all the 18 local government areas in the state.

The party’s Chairman for the exercise and Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello said indirect mode of primaries would be adopted to pick the APC flagbearer.

At the end of the exercise, the flagbearer of the party is expected to emerge from the 12 aspirants.

About 2,500 members and chieftains of the party will participate in the primary election of the party.

There are 11 governorship aspirants after Engr Ifeoluwa Oyedele stepped down for Governor Akeredolu who will slug it out for the APC ticket for the October 10 election.

Kalejaiye, said no fewer than 3,000 delegates will participate in the primary.

He said, “There would be 12 delegates from each of the 203 wards, 72 from the state executive. We have delegates from local government areas.

“We have House of Assembly and National Assembly members as automatic delegates. We also have special delegates,” Kalejaye said.

Those justling for the party ticket include the incumbent Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Mrs Jumoke Ajasin-Anifowose, Hon Isaacs Kekemeke, Chief Olayide Adelami, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN) and Ambassador Olusola Iji.

Others are; Dr Segun Abraham, Prince Jimi Odimayo, Chief Bukola Adetula, Mr Akin Akinsehinde-Awodeyi and Dr Nathaniel Adojutelegan.
