The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), has vowed to field candidate in the forthcoming October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo state.
The party said he would go into the election strongly to win the polls.
The State Chairman of the party, Hon Joseph Akinlaja gave this indication while addressing journalists after a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the ZLP held at the party’s secretariat in Akure.
Akinlaja pointed out that the party was well positioned to do well in the election.
Akinlaja said the party is in prime position to successfully pursue its agenda of bringing a development focused government into position in Ondo State and is busy revving up its machinery to so do.
“As much as the Covid19 era has allowed, we have been busy organizing and strategizing and will soon come out with the modalities for our participation in the elections” Akinlaja said.
He added that the leadership of the party in Ondo State as led by Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the immediate past Governor, was brainstorming with some political leaders across the state on how best to bring to bear the kind of government that would aggregate the core values of the party.
He encouraged citizens to stay safe, keep to all directives on COVID19 so as to prevent further spread of the scourge.
The Chairman of the ZLP enjoined the police to maintain neutrality and commitment to the discharge of its duties in Ondo State.
He promised that the ZLP, as a law abiding organization will work with security operatives and improve on the security situation in the state.
