Ondo 2020: Akoko Ward Coordinators settle for Adelami ahead of APC Primaries

Massive number of Akoko people at the weekend gave a major boost to the ambition of a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Adelami who is a leading Aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) vying for the position of Governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls in Ondo State.

The Owo born top administrator is not just aspiring for the position of Ondo State first citizen to acquire wealth or gain more influence but to use his wealth of experience in the Public Service at the federal level to bring developmental projects nearer to the people of the State.

The State Gubernatorial election will be conducted this year October but the ruling All Progressive Party will be conducting its primary election on the 20th of July.

Adelami at a meeting held at the weekend in Ikare Akoko, where 120 ward coordinators in the four Akoko local government areas unanimously agreed to endorse and vote for Chief Olayide Adelami as their sole candidate for the governorship Election especially during the APC primaries.

The convener of the meeting, Ibitoye Kehinde assured Adelami of the whole region’s support in winning the party’s ticket and overwhelming victory at the gubernatorial polls.

“Adelami’s name has turned out to be an household name within the short time he has spent as a politician in the State right from the 2019 General Election, when he canvassed the whole South West region for the return election of Buhari/Osinbanjo ticket.

“His unabashed antecedent as a public servant has made the totality of Akoko people to reckon with him. His track record was without blemish. His philanthropical gestures has made the APC stalwart in the whole Akoko Region of the State to show their interest and support to him.”

The people of Akoko Region in their hundreds came out not just to have a town hall meeting with him but also showing their party membership card, assuring him of their support in unseating the incumbent governor of Ondo State.
