The Deputy Governor of Ondo State and PDP Governorship aspirant in the forthcoming October 10 governorship election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi has disowned a report that he had threatened to dump the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), for the Social Progressives Party (SDP) if the PDP refuses him automatic ticket.
Agboola had last week joined the PDP after dumping the APC.
According to the fake report, Agboola was quoted to have said, “I’m set to join SDP If PDP fails to give me the automatic ticket.

The report which carried the poster of the Deputy Governor with the SDP logo, also indicates, “the governorship aspirant (Agboola) who have started seeing the handwriting on the wall that he may not clinch the party ticket, vowed to dump PDP for Social Democratic Party (SDP), should any attempt is made to drop him as the Party flag bearer in July, 2020.”
Apparently reacting to the report tagged “Fake News Alert”, the Media Adviser to the Deputy Governor, Allen Sowore denied the report, adding that Agboola remains loyal member of the PDP.
“This is to inform the general public that the campaign posters with the picture of the Deputy Governor in other political parties rather than the People’s Democratic Party,( PDP) circulating on various New Media Platforms doesn’t emanate from the office of Ondo State Deputy Governor and People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) governorship aspirant Alfred Agboola Ajayi.
“This is the hardiwork of desperate politicians who have tried unsuccessfully to pitch the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against the Deputy Governor.
“The purveyor of this fake news are well known to the public. We would not have responded to this fake and unsubstantiated story if not for unsuspecting members of the public.
“There was no time the Deputy Governor addressed press after his official declaration for the PDP on Monday 22nd June, 2020.
“We therefore urge the public to disregard this and the subsequent ones to follow.
“It is understandable that it will take a very long time for the All Progressives Congress, (APC) to recover from the whammy the defection of the Deputy Governor has caused,” Sowore said.
