…….State heading for total lockdown with 174 cases, 18 deaths, 91 active cases.
Six hundred and seventy five cases of coronavirus have emerged in twenty one states of the federation in the last twenty four hours, even as ondo state is heading for total lockdown.
According to updates by the Nigeria centre for disease control, NCDC, Lagos recorded the highest which is two hundred and eighty eight, Oyo, seventy six and twenty new cases in Ondo state.
There have a spike in the cases of covid19 in Ondo state as it recorded eighty infections in seven days.
Latest figure now indicates that Nigeria has twenty thousand, nine hundred and nineteen covid19 cases.
Number of discharges has increased to seven thousand, one hundred and nine while that of death is now five hundred and twenty five.
Addressing newsmen at the Government House in Akure, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said the recent figure was recorded within the last seven days, noting that
He explained that the state had a total of 174 confirmed cases with 91 active cases, while 41 people had been discharged with 18 deaths.
Governor Akeredolu said all preventive measures remained in place, and appealed for more dedication to the use of nose masks, social distancing, and frequent washing of hands
He urged the people not to force him to lockdown the state due to the daily increase in the positive cases of the pandemic
Blaming the daily increase of the pandemic on nonchalant attitude of some residents, Akeredolu added that adequate measures would be put in place to check the excesses.
