Following a resistance by the security agents that prevented the Ondo stare Deputy Governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi from moving his property out of the Government House, Alagbaka-Akure, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Bolaji Salami was deployed to the state to rig the October 10 2020 governorship election in Ondo state for the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).
The opposition party made the allegation today in Akure when its National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus visited the Ondo state Chapter to officially receive Agboola to the party from the APC he dumped yesterday.
Some of the PDP leaders including the state caretaker Chairman, Engr Clement Faboyede; a member of the BOT, Chief Segun Adegoke; a former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; the Deputy Governor and Secondus, who spoke at the political gathering, condemned the action of the police commissioner against Agboola at the Government House on Saturday night.
While Adegoke and Faboyede sought the redeployment of Salami from the state as ondo state is too volatile for him to handle as preparations for the election are intensified.
Secondus promised that there would be no imposition of candidate for the polls, the party’s July 22 primaries would be conducted in a transparent and credible manner.
The National Chairman commended the courage of Agboola for leaving ruling APC to join forces with the PDP to unseat the governing party.
He accused the Federal Government of not doing enough at putting the Nation in the right pedestal of development.
Prince Secondus claimed that the APC had derailed from true democratic tenets hence the prevailing spate of insecurity in the country.
Agboola declared that his coming to the PDP was to add values to the party as a sitting Deputy Governor.
