COVID-19: Worries as Ondo confirms 91 cases, Nine deaths

In less than two days that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu expressed worry over the spike in cases of coronavirus in Ondo state,
another eighteen cases of the disease have been recorded in the sunshine state.

The state recorded eight cases on Monday and ten cases were recorded yesterday.

The spike in cases of coronavirus in Ondo state has continued unabated as ten new cases emerged yesterday bringing to forty, the number of infection within six days.

Just few days ago, Governor Akereolu had expressed worry over the daily increase in COVID-19 cases in the state after recording thirty infections in a week.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in its daily update on COVID-19 last night announced four hundred and ninety new cases in sixteen states in the last twenty four hours.

In the breakdown, Lagos is having the highest number one hundred and forty two, the FCT is next having recorded ninety new cases among other states.

Th NCDC also declared that with the latest infections, positive cases of covid19 in Nigeria has hit seventeen thousand, one hundred and forty eight.

Out of this number, five thousand six hundred and twenty three cases have been treated and discharged while four hundred and fifty five died.

Ondo state has now recorded 91 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Akeredolu, the total cases on admission is currently 49, while total number of deaths are 9 and total discharged cases are 33.

“In all, a total of 880 samples have been collected for testing from 753 suspected cases in all the 18 LGAs.”
