The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly and founder of Soul Winning Spiritual Evangelical Church (SOWSEC), Oda town, Rt. Hon. (Prophet) Bamidele Oleyelogun, today held church service with his church members in total compliance with protocols for the COVID-19 prevention.
This is the first time in the last two months that church service will hold in ondo state.
The church members who were in high spirit worn nose masks while they also washed their hands with soap and water at the entry point of the church.
Hand sanitizers were also provided for the use of members even though some came with their personal hand sanitizers.
Also, social and physical distancing was clearly observed, just as members greeted one another through the wave of their hands.
This is the first religious gathering since the ban on religious activities following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in March this year.
Speaking during the service, Prophet Oleyelogun, commended the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for approving the syndicated and guided religious activities, saying the religious leaders and the members would continue to adhere strictly to all the protocols for the COVID-19 prevention.
He prayed God to continue to lead the governor aright, just as he called on the people to continue to support the governor’s efforts aimed at developing the state and the people.
Oleyelogun who had earlier distributed free nose masks to all members and non-members of his church in Oda town, further charged them to always wear it and comply with all government’s guidelines to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the state.
“As you can see, all of us obey the laid down precautions; we wear our face masks, we are washing our hands regularly with soap and water. I have already distributed free face masks to all our members and nonmembers in Oda town.
“We also have hand sanitizers to rub our hands. Look at our sitting arrangement too. We don’t sit close to one another. We maintain social and physical distancing, and I want to commend our members for this simple obedience.
“Since the lock down, we have been doing everything to assist all our members and nonmembers in Oda town to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. I gave out money, I distributed food items such as rice, beans, semolina among others.
“This is apart from the ones I distributed across my constituency. All our efforts are just to identify with our people and give them necessary supports”, the Speaker added.
Some members of the church including Mr Oluwagbemiga Samuel, Mrs Omolewa Onipede and Evangelist Ilemobayo Omowale, appreciated the Speaker for the free nose masks, food palliative and money given to them to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While praying for the speaker for not allowing them to suffer during the lock down, the members equally promised continued compliance with all precautionary measures to curtail the spread of the virus.
Prayers were offered to God to put an end to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the state, nation and the world over.
