Sallah: Akeredolu, Jegede task Muslims to sustain Ramadan lessons

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has congratulated the Muslim faithful in the state on the successful completion of the 2020 Ramadan fasting.

In a Sallah message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, the Governor urges the Muslim faithful to continue with the spirit of sacrifice and sanctity they practised during the fasting period.

Mr Akeredolu said though the Holy month has ended, the faithful should ensure that they adhere to the spirit of love and sharing they exhibited all through the Ramadan.

Similarly, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in the 2016 governorship election in Ondo state, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, has congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of Ramadan.

While urging them to sustain the virtues of Ramadan, Jegede harped on the need for Muslims in the state to remain steadfast and prayerful in the face of daunting socio-economic challenges.

Commending Muslims in the state for rounding off the Ramadan well, Jegede said the import of the period of chastity should not be lost on them in their day-to-day relationship with God and fellow human beings.

Arakunrin Akeredolu thanks the Muslim faithful for their unwavering support to his administration, particularly their understanding and support of all government’s actions and directives aimed at containing the Coronavirus pandemic.

While noting that his administration is committed to the development of the state, which he says is our common heritage, he calls on Muslims to pray for the state and the nation to overcome the challenge of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

JEGEDE GREETS MUSLIMS, URGES SUSTENANCE OF PIETY AFTER RAMADAN

“I urge all the people of Ondo state across religious divide, to remain steadfast, prayerful and patriotic . The virtues of moderation, piety, regular supplication to Allah and being our brother’s keeper should subsist beyond the Ramadan. Beyond this, everyone should seek to contribute to rebuilding the state with renewed vigour.

As residents of Ondo state, and Nigerians, we must continue to strengthen the spirit of oneness, regardless of religious, ethnic, regional, and political diversities, for that is the only way to surmount our daunting challenges and build a greater state.” Jegede said.
