Ondo State governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has congratulated workers in the state on the occasion of the 2020 workers May Day Celebration.
The Governor in a statement describes Labour Unions as partners in progress just as he commends the workers in the State for their understanding and support.
According to Governor Akeredolu the continuous maturity exhibited by workers and their leaders in the State has not just enhanced a better relationship but has indeed, given hope for a mutuality benefitting relationship.
He then craves a sustained and more robust engagement between the workers and the state government in the administration’s efforts to meet the demands on the welfare of workers and the generality of the people.
Mr Akeredolu urges the workers to join hands with government in the battle against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic, by ensuring they comply with all the directives laid down to tackle the deadly virus.

Lawmakers in the Ondo State House of Assembly have congratulated the entire workers in the state as they celebrate this year’s workers’ day.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon. Akogun Olugbenga Omole, Speaker of the House Rt. Honourable Bamidele David Oleyelogun acknowledged the doggedness, commitment and hardwork exhibited by the workforce in the state which he said has engendered an unprecedented productivity in the recent time.
The Speaker noted that May day offers the opportunity to celebrate workers for their hardwork as engine room of government.
He added that there is dignity in labour and thus encouraged workers to exhibit more loyalty and commitment to service in order to make our darling Sunshine State the envy of all.
According to him “work uplifts the workers as it keeps them productive, providing opportunities to learn and flourish in a changing economy”.
The Speaker urged workers to make sacrifices in their call to duty noting that their efforts would be rewarded appropriately.
While wishing the workers a rewarding May day celebration, Rt Honourable Oleyelogun pledged the readiness of the Lawmakers to work with the executive in order to enhance their welfare at all times.
