As part of steps to organise memorable birthday for a lawmaker representing Akoko North East/North West federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, a group of his followers has empowered some less privileged women.
This is also a special way to honour his leadership qualities.
The group, BTO Ambassadors, made up of young men and women who are proteges of Tunji-Ojo, popularly known as BTO, in Ondo State, today organised a special empowerment for three vulnerable women.
The three women, two widows and one single mother, were selected from three local government areas to be given a source of income that can sustain them, especially in this hard time of lockdown.
Speaking with newsmen, the Matron of the group, Mrs. Oluwaseun Osamaye, said the three beneficiaries are from Akoko North East, Akoko North West and Ifedore local government areas.
Osamaye who is an aide of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, said the gesture was done by the followers of BTO to amplify his philosophy and leadership qualities.
According to her, the purpose of the donations was to empower the less privileged women so that they can have a source of income.
She described BTO as not just a leader but a friend of all who has continued to dedicate his time and resources to providing quality representation to his people and empowering the vulnerable.
The beneficiaries were each presented with a grinding machine in their respective locations on Friday which was the birthday of the federal lawmaker.
