Why I’m happy with Mimiko’s Mother —Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo yesterday described late mother of former governor Olusegun Mimiko’s of Ondo state, Mama Muinat Mosekonla Mimiko as a great woman and a woman of destiny.

The Vice President said he was happy with mama Mimiko because he accepted Jesus Christ before her death.

Osinbanjo stated this at the interdenominational funeral service for the deceased which held at Oba Adesanoye Civic Center, in Ondo city.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, Minister of state for Niger Delta, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun and other dignitaries attended the Interdominational burial service for late mama Mosekonla Mimiko, the mother of the former Governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

Osinbajo said they are here to celebrate somebody that is very special to God because God has revealed to her the secret of salvation gospel and to share the secret of the gospel of Jesus Christ to people.

Late Mama Mimiko was formerly a Muslim but later changed to Christian.

In his word, “We’ve been told that God revealed the secret of salvation to mama and when God revealed the secret of salvation to will receive God’s mercy.

“God also revealed to her that she must share the secret of the gospel of Jesus Christ to so many others that is why we are privileged to celebrate with her and to also join her in propergating the gospel.

“The lord meet mama before she died and she wasn’t a young woman when she meet the Lord Jesus Christ, it shows that whenever God has planned and purpose for human beings the plans and purpose will always be fulfil,” he stressed.

The Vice President further said that Christianity, gospel of Jesus Christ is not a religion but a plan of God for salvation that is the secret of the gospel, saying everybody is invited to look unto Jesus.

Also speaking, the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said the deceased has left behind a great family that are united.

Akeredolu further said that the deceased has done well for living behind children of good caliber, saying mama has gone to a glorious home and they are here to celebrate and not to morn.

According to him, the most important thing is that mama accepted Christ before she died, saying somebody can rest in peace when the person accept Christ as lord and saviour.

Speaking earlier, the former vice chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin Akungba, Prof. Femi Mimiko who is one of the deceased children, described his late mother has a wonderful woman to the children who has done good things possible to support her late husband by given the children best education.

Prof Mimiko therefore thanked God for the life his mother has spent and they are proud of her accomplishment while praying that God will sustain the children to continue in her part.
