By: Oluwatosin Adesola

As the preparations for the October 10, 2020 hot up, a Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Barrister Bukola Adetula, yesterday declared that the incumbent, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is beatable at the primaries of the party to pick gubernatorial candidate.

Adetula also said that he had consulted widely to boost his confidence of emerging the APC Governorship candidate.

Adetula, who is Akeredolu’s kinsman from Owo local government area, stated this in Akure, on the sideline of the APC Unity Forum’s meeting, where he officially made his intention to contest the governorship election known to his party’s leaders.

He pointed out that Akeredolu had reached his limit in terms of providing good governance, insisting that the governor had nothing to offer the people again and should not be reelected.

Adetula noted that he had reached out to many stakeholders and sure of recording success by picking the party’s ticket.

“We have reached out, we have consulted people, leaders, grassroots, women, youths and professionals across the length and breadth of Ondo State and we are convinced that for the sake of the people, for the interest of the good people of Ondo State, we must do what we believe we have to do to help and develop Ondo state.

“We have what it takes to bring meaningful changes to the lives of people in the state and that is why we are saying we must seek the nomination form of our party to contest the 2020 Ondo governorship election,” Adetula said.

The legal Practitioner opined that there would be a new lease of life for the people of the state if he wins the governorship election.

Adetula who in 2016 contested the governorship election on the same platform, but lost at the primary, said Akeredolu had offered what he has a capacity to do for the citizenry.

The APC Chieftain, who expressed reservation over the administrative style of the governor in running the affairs of the state for the past three years, pleaded with the people not to lose hope, promising that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

Adetula said that with him as the governor, Ondo state would become an investment hub with great economic activities, resulting in employment opportunities and increased income accruing from internally generated revenue.
