Ondo Court Bars Media from Covering Prophet Sotitobire’s case, Issues fresh order.

The Founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Prophet Alfa Babatunde will continue to be in the detention of Olokuta Correctional Service facility (formerly known as Prisons) in Akure, pending the issuance of hearing notice of a Kidnapping case of a one year-old Boy, Gold Kolawole filed against him and five other members of his church.

Thousands of residents and church members stormed the court premises as the Sotitobire Church founder was this morning docked before an Ondo state Magistrate court sitting at Oke-Eda Akure alongside five of his church members on a six -count-charge of alleged felony, conspiracy and Kidnapping of the boy, Gold Kolawole inside the church on the 10th of November, last year.

The court headed by Mrs Charity Adeyanju however gave an order today that Prophet Alfa should remain in the prison pending the time the state High court will issue the hearing notice where his bail application could be taken.

Magistrate Adeyanju had earlier barred journalists from covering the court proceedings as she personally walked out already seated pressmen from her court.

No reason was given for her action.

Earlier, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) from the state Ministry of Justice, Mrs Grace Olowoporokun had briefed the court that the DSS had concluded its investigation over the case and sent its report to the DPP for legal advice since 8th of this month.

The DPP therefore sought the adjournment of the case, an application that the two lawyers to the defendants, Messrs Sola Oke (dm) and Remi Olatubora did not object, but urged the state DPP to ensure speeding hearing of the case when it transfers to the High court.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adeyanju who prevented journalists from covering the court proceedings, adjourned the matter till the 5th of next month.

Our correspondent reports that the court premises was filled to capacity and many residents of Akure stormed Oke-Eda Akure to catch the glimpse of embattled Prophet Sotitobire

The briefing by the DPP prompted the court to issued the fresh order that the embattled cleric should be kept in the Prison.

The case has been adjourned till the 5th of next month.
