After four days of closure over alleged plot by Boko Haram insurgents to carry out attack on some communities in Owo and Akoko axis, Commercial banks customers trooped to their banks on Monday in Akoko area of Ondo State for transactions.

It has been impossible for the customers since last week Thursday to transact at their banks mostly in Ikare and Owo due to the Boko haram threat.

SUNSHINETRUTH gathered that although banks in Ikare Akoko didn’t opened exactly 8:00am like before but many customers were outside the banking hall, while some opened at 8.30am after surveillance and possibly due to a favourable security report received.

It was learnt that there is still tension in the affected areas, as many customers were still pessimistic, thinking Boko haram might still strike as plotted, they stayed away from banking area of Ikare.

Two of the customers, Sarumi Adebola from Irun Akoko and Jamiu Zakariyahu from Ajowa Akoko who were in Ikare for bank transactions, expressed his joy for the bank reopening.

They urged security agents to strategize and be on the top of the situation.

Meanwhile, police patrol vehicles are still patrolling strategic areas to beef up security.
