Akingboye, who is also a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) stated this in Okitipupa while declaring his intention to contest the governorship election in the state.

Akingboye who expressed dissatisfaction over high tuitions in the state tertiary institutions and abolition of payment of WAEC by the state government, promised to make education accessible and affordable if elected.

He said, “I will equally invest in education by declaring total affordable and compulsory education from primary school to tertiary level”

……Promises To Intervene After 7 days If Action Isn’t Taken

Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship aspirant in Ondo State on Sunday berated Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for not ordering the removal of an abandoned truck which has since led to series of carnage on Ikare- Akoko/Owo road.

The Dangote truck that had an accident along the road, Oba-Akoko axis three weeks ago, is yet to be removed and thereby constituting danger to travellers.

Akingboye opines that if relevant agencies charged with the responsibility of maintaining safety on roads have failed, it behooves on Governor Akeredolu to take responsibility if truly the safety of lives and properties matter to him.

The PDP Aspirant who was at the scene, maintained that such sensitive road should gain priority from a serious government that is sensitive to the safety and welfare of its citizens, in that, the abandoned truck would continue to increase accidents’ rate at that particular point.

Furthermore, it is incontrovertible that Oba-Akoko among other towns in the northern senatorial district of Ondo State is prone to attacks from kidnappers and armed bandits, hence the need for it to be free from material hideouts such as damaged vechiles.

Akingboye, saddened by the rate of insecurity in the state, cautioned Governor Akeredolu against exposing the lives of innocent people to attacks through negligence of duty that has characterized his administration.

Akingboye says it is irresponsible on the part of the state governor to continually allow residents and travellers witness untold hardship and danger over his short-sightedness about governance.

Speaking further, he says this reckless action of government could be likened to a failed discharge of administrative duties, which may result to creating fear in the minds of residents.

Otunba Akingboye however assures that if Governor Akeredolu and other relevant agencies do not do the needful within 7 days, he would be forced to remove wreckages of the truck for the sake of Nigerians and foreigners plying the road.

Conclusively, the governorship aspirant tasks Governor Akeredolu on the need to provide quality leadership by ensuring the safety of lives and properties of residents.
