Two security guards suspected to have killed their Ghanaian boss, Kwakye Kwaku Richards, at his residence in Akure, Ondo State, have been arrested by men of the state police command.
The suspects, Ayuba Idris, and Taisu Abubakar, both aged 20, were initially declared wanted by the police for killing Mr. Richards alongside his 27-year-old daughter, Miss Kwakye Tope.
Richard and his daughter had earlier been declared missing by the police.
Addressing a Press Conference at the Police Headquarters in Akure, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Undie Adie said one Mr. Ojo Adegbusuyi of km 31, Ilesha/Owo expressway, Akure on May 2, 2019 reported that one Kwakye Kwaku Richard Aged 71 years and his daughter Kwakye Tope Aged 27 years we’re missing.

The CP said over 40 suspected criminals had been arrested in Ondo state in the last four months including suspected two killers of Akure Anglican Bursar and other bank customers.
According to Undie, others that were reported missing include their two Hausa Security guards from their residents at Ojomo Akintan Estate, Olu FOAM Ilesha/Owo expressway Akure, Ondo State and that all efforts to trace their whereabout proved abortive.
He further disclosed that the handset of the missing person and his suits were recovered from him, and upon interrogation, he confessed that he and the second security guard named Taisu Abubakar knew where the two missing persons could be located.
The commissioner said thereafter led detectives to a building at Ojomo Akintan Estate, Olu foam, Ilesha/Owo expressway Akure, Ondo State where the decomposed bodies of Kwakye Kwaku Richard and Kwakye Tope earlier declared missing were found.
The CP said, his men later evacuated the decomposed bodies and deposited them at the State Hospital Mortuary, Akure for autopsy.
Upon interrogation, the suspects who could only speak Hausa language, also through an interpreter, confessed the murder of the victims which the suspects and initially said that they killed Kwakye Kwaku Richard who was their employer because he refused to pay their three (3) months’ salary arrears.
They however later recanted their claim by admitting that the deceased did not owe them any salary.
They said that they also decided to kill the daughter on the same day in order to cover their track since she saw them the day they killed her father.
The suspects were arrested by a crack of detectives from the Ondo State Police Command in Kano and Sokoto states, respectively.
The Commissioner of Police, said the guards confessed to killing their employer and his daughter.
Mr. Adie explained that the suspects after killing the victims dumped their bodies in a building at the Ojomo Akintan Estate.
“The two suspects initially said they killed the 71-years-old Richards because he refused to pay them three months’ salaries. They, however, later recanted their claim by admitting that the deceased did not owe them any salary. They also said they decided to kill the daughter on the same day in order to cover their track since she saw them the day they killed her father,” the police commissioner told journalists.
The police boss added that items recovered from them include a laptop, some clothes, and mobile phones.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court soon
