…..says no plot to impeach Deputy Governor, Agboola
The Chief Whip of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Hon Olayemi Adeyemi-Adeshina today said there is no plot to impeach the state deputy governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi over alleged feud between him and his boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Hon Adeyemi who is popularly known as “Koko”, also expressed confidence that Governor Akeredolu had performed well in the last three years to get his mandate renewed by the people of the state.
Social media have been flooded with rumour of the plot by the state house of Assembly to remove Agboola from office due to his perceived animosity between him and his boss.
But the lawmaker, Adeyemi who disclosed this in Akure while speaking with Ondo state online journalists, explained that there was no feud between the governor and his deputy, noting that such rumour was being peddled by political jobbers.
Adeyemi who represents Owo constituency-two in the state Assembly, said he was 80% sure that excellent performance of Akeredolu would earn him second term in office despite internal wrangling in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said “as at today, I’m not aware of any impeachment plot against the deputy governor. I have not been briefed about that (impeachment plot) as at this moment.
Adeyemi declared that the group of aggrieved leaders of the APC operating under Ondo APC Unity Forum would soon disintegrate because majority of the people both within and outside the party were fully in support of the governor due to his giant strides in road construction, provision of school infrastructure, water supply among others.
