Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has visited the family of late Professor Olu Aboluwoye to sympathize with the people of Akure and the academic society.
Aboluwoye passed on Thursday, April 9, 2020 during a protracted illness at the age of 58.
Similarly, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin, said it is deeply shattered by the demise of one of the pillars of the party in the state, Professor Aboluwoye.
Akeredolu, who paid a condolence visit to the Akure residence of the late Professor few hours after his death, said as christians, it is believed that the late Aboluwoye did not die but had gone to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
The Governor described the death of Aboluwoye who was a Senior Lecturer at the stare owned Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko as a great loss to him, the state, Akure Kingdom, the University community and the church.
The Governor, who said Aboluwoye’s death is still like a dream to him, added that there is no amount of tears that can bring the dead back to life.
Akeredolu who was accompanied by Adetimehin and the State Head of Service, Mr Dare Aragbaiye, noted that Professor Aboluwoye had lived well, having attained the highest level in his career as a Professor and a man loved by many.
The Governor said the Akure Community, as well as the University, should be proud of Aboluwoye’s contributions as an academic.
He said: “I want to believe that everybody should be proud of Prof in his field, he has made an impact. He has attained the highest level of his career. The children should be proud of him.
“Our attention is going to be on the living. I mean the children he left behind who are now orphans. I can assure them, this death is a great loss to me.
“This is a man whose presence is felt everytime. In about two to three years he’s been tireless in this our campaign and we can not forget that.”
The Governor prayed that the Almighty God assists the deceased on his journey to paradise.
ONDO APC MOURNS ABOLUWOYE
The All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo State through the State Chairman, Ade Adetimehin has lamented the passage of Aboluwoye, a strong and committed leader of the party and unwavering supporter of government, whose interest was to ensure quality service delivery to the people.
In a statement signed by the APC publicity secretary, Mr Alex Kalejaye, the Chairman Adetimehin, said the deceased was always interested In the wellbeing of his people.
Mr Adetimehin condoled with members of the late Aboluwoye, Government and the university community, urging them to be encouraged by the good name he left behind.
“The party Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, laments the passage of a strong and committed leader of the party and unwavering supporter of government, whose interest was to ensure quality service delivery to the people.
Adetimehin notes, “Professor Abulowaye was a focused, straightforward and exceptionally hardworking man, whose main concern was the wellbeing of the people. He was passionate about his people.
“He was an accomplished academician; a reliable and patriotic Nigerian, who was ever ready to hold on to a position, so long he was convinced of its viability”.
The party Chairman condoled with the members of the bereaved family, Government and the university community, urging them to be encouraged by the good name he left behind.
