Aboluwoye’s Death Shocking —AAUA VC

…..Akure People’ll not forget him —Oba Aladetoyinbo

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has expressed grief and described as shocking the sudden death of one of its eminent Professors, Christopher Olumuyiwa Aboluwoye, who died yesterday after a brief illness.

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, who visited the family of the late scholar today alongside some top officers of the Institution, said the news of the death of Professor Aboluwoye was shocking and has thrown the entire University into mourning.

Prof. Ige described Prof. Aboluwoye as a seasoned academic and versatile administrator, who would be fondly remembered for his immense contributions to the development of the Faculty of Science and the University at large.

Meanwhile, in a Letter of Condolence to the family of the deceased, the Acting Registrar of the University, Mr. Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, said, “On behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Governing Council, Senate, the University Management, Staff and Students of the Univeristy, I write to express our heartfelt condolences to the members of the family, friends and associates on this irreparable loss.

“May the Almighty God grant the Late Professor Aboluwoye eternal rest, give his family the fortitude to bear this loss and strengthen the family in this time of grief.”

Until his death, late Aboluwoye was a Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Science and the Director of the Advancement Centre of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. He was also a member of the University Governing Council and the University Senate.

THE DEMISE OF PROFESSOR CHRISTOPHER OLU ABOLUWOYE – A FATAL BLOW TO AKURE COMMUNITY

The Deji and the Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi on behalf of himself and the good people of Akure had received the untimely death of Professor C.O Aboluwoye which happened yesterday with immense sadness

Oba Aladetoyinbo described the death as the departure of a patriot whose life of service and humility was widely acknowledged in his community, the state and the nation at large.

Oba Aladetoyinbo recalled the various roles played by Professor Aboluwoye in youth development, community service, political and human right activism amongst others. He had demonstrated his unwavering support and love for Akure and her people at every opportunity he had to serve. He diligently served as the Acting Chairman of the Oyemekun festival 2017 which was a huge success.

“More specifically, Oba Aladetoyinbo wish to celebrate the role modelling qualities of integrity, diligence and humility that characterized the time and lives of Professor Aboluwoye.
Professor Aladetoyinbo is indeed a dogged fighter, brave, fearless and a committed christian as the Balogun of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Akure.

The exit of this great and accomplished academia, community leader and an illustrious son of Akure kingdom is a sun set at noon.

Oba Aladetoyinbo and the people of Akure kingdom will continue to hold him in high esteem even in death. We will not forget his immense contribution to the community, the University Community, the political space and most importantly his loud voice on local, national and international discourse.

However, we are not like those without hope, we are consoled with the fact that Professor Aboluwoye had only depart this sinful world and transformed from mortality to immortality.

Oba Aladetoyinbo prayed that almighty God would comfort the family at this period of grief.

May God grant the soul of our departed beloved Professor eternal rest.
