“COVID-19: No Chinese died at Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, Ore”

Following ravaging COVID-19, the Management of Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, Ore has dismissed rumour that there was death or sickness of some Chinese working at the companies located at the hub.

There was a speculation on social media last week that there were deaths and illnesses in relation with Coronavirus.

But in a statement, the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub manager through Klick Konnect Networks International Ltd, described as untrue and embarrassing rumours that a lady staff of Chinese nationality died at the hub.

Below is the full text of the Press Statement by the management;

NO DEATHS OR ILLNESSES REPORTED AT THE ONDO-LINYI INDUSTRIAL HUB.

We would like to on behalf of our clients- the companies that make up the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, state clearly and with all sense of certainty and truth that no death or Covid-19 related illnesses have been recorded at the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub.

At about a week ago, the hub, under our management and supervision, received the staff of the Ondo State Government’s Centre for Disease Control, took them round the facilities, and we walked them through the procedures that have been put in place to ensure the health and well-being of all indigenous and expatriate staff.

We have, even after their visit, adhered to these processes and recorded no illnesses or death. We have also been in constant touch with them, and our gates remain open to receive them.

We are embarrassed by rumours that a lady staff of Chinese nationality has died. This is not only false, but sad. It is also news that can portray our clients in bad light, and it constitutes scare-mongering and stigmatization.

Our clients have shown themselves to be socially responsible, and they will not put the lives of their host State/communities in danger.

Our clients reiterate that they have been in constant communication and under strict monitoring by the CDC, and are contributing their quota to curtailing the spread of the pandemic, as socially responsible investors.

We are all in the fight against this pandemic. Humanity must stand as one. This fight should not be politicized. We appeal to the public not to partake in the disemmination of fake news, but to ignore these rumours as inhumane and false.

We also pray for repentance for the originators who may have lost their souls. These are times to be forthright and virtuous.

Once again, we pray for our collective safety in these trying times. May God bless and heal our land.

Thank you.

Klick Konnect Networks Intl. Ltd, for and on behalf of the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub.
